Last night’s sunset in NY Harbour
I took this picture yesterday at sunset in New York Harbour, a little chilly out there but well worth the wait……

Friday, January 6th, 2012Dan Callister’s Great White Sharks published in The Daily Post
A recent article published in today’s Daily Post about Great White Sharks.. I have to THANK Chris, Monique, Poenas, Matt, Woodsy, Stef and all they guys at Apex Predators in Simonstown, SA who make it possible with their expertise and knowledge of this formidable predator to get these types of pictures! Great White Sharks are majestic creatures that deserve our protection from finning, over-fishing and poaching. PLEASE SUPPORT conservation groups that protest the barbaric practice of shark finning. The oceans would be a boring place without them!

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011The controversial black bear cull in New Jersey
A recent assignment was to photograph the controversial black bear cull in Northern New Jersey. The bear population appears to be on the rise with the abundance of food namely human trash as the human population continues to encroach into the bears domain. The bears are having bigger litters and there appears to be a low mortality rate for cubs because of a continued food source. It’s a precarious balance to try and maintain man’s coexistence with such a beautiful creature which is becoming a pest in some peoples eyes. Without proper trash enforcement and a proper protocol enforced the problem will only get worse and a tragic end for many bears…….
